San Francisco – March 20, 2025 – ‍Be My Eyes (bemyeyes.com), the company that improves accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision, has partnered with Knorr Thailand to launch AI assistance through the Be My Eyes app on Knorr Jok Cup Range in Thailand. This marks the first time Unilever foods-based products will feature AQR codes in Thailand, providing blind and low vision consumers with a more inclusive and independent shopping and cooking experience.

Through the Be My Eyes app, users can scan the AQR codes with their smartphones to receive audio descriptions of essential product details, including ingredients, nutritional values, and cooking instructions. This information is delivered via Be My AI, the AI-driven visual assistant that supports Thai-language accessibility.

This collaboration addresses a critical challenge faced by blind and low-vision individuals - accessing product information in grocery stores and at home. Studies show that only 10% of individuals who are blind or have low vision have access to assistive technologies like screen readers or braille displays. With AQR and Be My AI, Knorr and Be My Eyes are working to close this gap, giving consumers the opportunity to make informed food choices with confidence.

"At Be My Eyes, we believe in breaking down barriers to accessibility, and this partnership with Knorr Thailand is a major step forward," said Mike Buckley, CEO at Be My Eyes. "By integrating AQR into Knorr’s packaging and Be My AI visual assistance, we are ensuring that everyone, regardless of their vision, can access the information they need for better nutrition and a better quality of life."

Using the AQR feature through Be My Eyes is simple:

  1. Open the Be My Eyes app on your smartphone.
  2. Click on Service Directory, navigate to “Food and Beverage” and select “Knorr Thailand
  3. Scan the AQR code on Knorr packaging.
  4. Listen as the app reads out product details in Thai.
  5. Ask further questions about recipes, cooking instructions and more!

Additionally, users can connect with Knorr Thailand’s agents via live video calls to receive real-time assistance with Knorr six popular Knorr instant porridge flavors, with plans to expand across more product lines in the future.

"Knorr has always been dedicated to promoting good nutrition for all. By integrating Accessible QR codes and Be My AI, we are taking another step toward ensuring that consumers who are blind or have low vision have the same access to information as everyone else," said Ms. Polen Pouv, Commecial Lead of Foods Thailand Cambodia Laos. "We look forward to further collaborations that drive inclusive innovation."

Be My Eyes and Knorr encourage consumers, retailers, and partners to support and spread awareness of this initiative. For more updates, visit Be My Eyes on social media or download the Be My Eyes app to explore accessibility-enhancing features.
